The 1966 Ford Bronco sand dragster is a one-of-a-kind example created in the United States as a competition project in the 1960s. Derived from a pre-production model, it was converted for sand racing by removing every superfluous element to reduce weight. The approximately 2.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine was modified with a supercharger and larger carburetors, paired with a modified manual transmission. The setup is specific for traction on sandy surfaces, with dedicated tires and revised suspension. The cockpit is also stripped to the essentials, with no doors or comforts, reflecting an extreme philosophy focused exclusively on speed.
