MINI put a camouflaged Countryman prototype through a test session in the Rocky Mountains, in the United States, tackling dirt roads, rocky terrain, and remote mountain routes.
The activity is part of the development of a new off-road-focused special edition of the model, designed to handle conditions that conventional test tracks do not fully replicate: high altitude, uneven surfaces, and variable weather.
The Munich-based automaker has not yet released technical details about the vehicle, but it has confirmed the date of the world premiere, set for October 2026
