They generally have lower purchase prices than other powertrains and low maintenance costs. In addition, the evolution of light electrification and middle hybrid systems has helped significantly reduce fuel consumption, making these cars even more efficient in everyday use. But which models are the most fuel-efficient today? To answer this question, we present the 2026 real-world fuel consumption ranking dedicated to gasoline cars, based on tests carried out along our standard 360 km route from Rome to Forlì.
