The smart #2 has entered the final development phase with an international testing program ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026. The tests cover agility, stability, acoustic comfort, reliability, and safety, with road, track, and laboratory trials. The new electric city car will be based on the ECA platform, will have a turning circle of 22.8 feet, a battery of about 35.7 kWh with more than 124 miles of range, and fast charging from 10 to 80% in less than 20 minutes. New features include a continuous two-seat bench, the new Tridion cell, and multilink suspension. The announced starting price is about 20,000 euros.
