The McLaren F1 GTR 10R, nicknamed “Pop Art F1,” will take center stage at RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction in August 2026 with an estimate exceeding $35 million. The first example of the 1996 version, the fastest in the F1 GTR family, it is one of only two Short-Tail prototypes built and the only one with an official McLaren red and yellow livery. After testing at the 1996 24 Hours of Le Mans, it was converted for road use and purchased in 1999 by Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason. Preserved and restored by the specialists at Lanzante, it represents the perfect union of motorsport, British design, and pop culture. An authentic automotive icon destined to go down in auction history.
