The Land Rover Defender Dakar is a road-legal limited series derived from the Defender D7X-R, winner of the 2026 Dakar, unveiled at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. It uses a 635 hp and 750 Nm 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, paired with a transmission and all-wheel drive system derived from the competition vehicle. The setup includes coil springs, Bilstein Advanced Dampers shock absorbers, and 35-inch all-terrain tires on 20-inch forged wheels. New features include Dunes and Gravel modes and Flight Mode, developed to manage jumps. The body adopts carbon elements, increased protection, and widened tracks. Orders will open at the beginning of 2027, with further details expected at the 2027 Dakar.
